6th GradeSkeleton drawings are finished and we have begun working on our column vase in clay. The vase is required to have a decorated base and shaft and a capital. The pieces will take a week to dry and will be fired. After they are fired, we will take a day to glaze them. Next up - Medieval Art and calligraphy Upcoming Due Dates:
8th GradeWork is continuing on our watercolor quilt through Wednesday. We will begin a sgraffito plate project on Thursday while learning about the Revolutionary War. I will also fire the whistles and jars for glazing at the beginning of next month. Upcoming Due Dates: (5 points will be deducted if late)
| 7th GradeWe have finished our grid drawings last week and will begin a trompe l'oeil drawing (trick the eye). Students will need to bring a candy bar, granola bar or small snack bag to use in the drawing (they can eat the contents in class). They will need this MONDAY. The following week we will be learning about perspective in drawing. Upcoming Due Dates (5 points will be deducted if late)
Graphic DesignThe dust is starting to settle and we are using our netbooks to work on software experiments. We will finish up the Artweaver experiments and learn about color theory and the principles of design. There will be an open book quiz Friday on the principles.
