6th GradeWe are wrapping up our Mexican Skeleton Drawings this week and each student will need a plastic shopping bag for their clay project by Wednesday. We will be traveling to Ancient Greece and Roman and learn about the architecture of these 2 cultures. Upcoming Due Dates:
8th GradeWe have finished building a clay whistle and are also finishing up a coil pot that we will decorate with stamps that we made. Both will be fired early next week. On Tuesday we will begin work on a watercolor quilt inspired by the folk artists of the colonial period and the work of upcoming due dates:
| 7th GradeWe learned about values and shading this week along with seeing space. This lesson culminated with some wonderful value drawings of objects from life (still life). This week we will learn about drawing using lines and grids to guide us. Students can bring their own magazines to find a photograph or find one in the many magazines we have in the art room. Graphic DesignWe have had a confusing start with trying to share the computer lab. Fortunately, with the bond passing (thank you Lakeshore Community) this is only a struggle for this year. We also have the generosity of Mrs. Czech lending us her netbooks for the days when the lab was checked out. So this means there is an updated syllabus attached. We finished creating animals out of type and these are due Monday September 16. This week we will delve into fonts and create a personal logo using Artweaver. We have also learned everything about type (actually more than we wanted to know) upcoming due dates:
